Data Backup
The number one reccommendation I can give is to have not one but two or three backups of your most important files. At least one backup copy is a must to protect yourself from losing data.
You can back up to an external drive, another computer on your network or network attached storage device. You can also backup to cloud services such as Onedrive, Dropbox, Box or many other cloud backup
providers so you can have access to your files on any device at any time as long as you have an internet connection.
Crypto-Viruses
Data backup has
become even more important with the proliference of the various crypto-viruses like cryptolocker and cryptowall that attack your computer, encrypt your files so you will not get access to your data until
you pay a bitcoin ransom. Having a good backup of your files means you can just replace all the encrypted files once you have the virus removed.
File Recovery
Corrupted files, lost files or files on a broken computer or harddrive can be recovered. Files can get corrupted when you save them. If you drop your laptop the harddrive could get damaged and make files hard to read.
If your laptop or PC is broken and you need to get your files off your harddrive I can help.
